When You Stop Texting People First

· Life and Musings

I ran into a brilliant quote recently. It goes like this:

"I stopped texting people first. I haven't heard from a lot of people in a while.

I promise you, if you stop texting people first, you'll realize how many dead plants you've been watering."

I think it's so true, yet there's a little disclaimer I think should be produced.

It is true that when you stop texting your friends first, you may not hear from them at all. Or if you do, they may just need a favor out of you.

That sounds dreary and demoralizing.

At the same time, one has to understand that everybody does indeed get busier and busier as we grow up.

It wouldn't be the nicest to bug your friends and chid them for not carrying out the "simple" task that is texting first.

People are just busy and they've own systems to go along in life.

But yeah again, it is really sad that you'd effectively lose tons of friends should you choose not to text first.

Personally, I don't hold it against anyone, but I do hold back on texting first whenever I think I should now. A simple like or comment on my social media posts works for me too.

Work out a balance for yourself.
