It's Alden here, the One Dude behind One Dude Listening. 
 
Thanks so much for dropping by. I hope you can give me a couple of minutes of your time and hear me out.
 
Yes, there's a whole story behind the shirts I am selling here. It's not just branding. It's a story. 
 
Because who needs another fucking t-shirt right? You can wear any old shit you own and you won't be committing any public indecency.
 
So yeah, I created this cause it's something I passionately believe in. Check it out.

 
The Story Behind The One Dude Listening (ODL) Shirt

I created this brand for a few reasons:
 
1) This is truly about mental health for dudes
 
It is my hope that when people see the ODL logo, they'd be reminded to:
Stop. Listen to a friend today.
Empathize with one another.
Don't judge.
Just help somebody today.
You never know what they may be going through. A simple listening ear could help tons. 
 
2) The instant you wear ODL, YOU become the ONE DUDE
 
You're empowered to do amazing shit and make a difference.
 
Why? Because you're honestly fucking awesome and fully capable of doing so.
 
I hope you know that. No, that's not a cheesy, tripe I am throwing out there. Like everybody on this planet, you're pretty damn unique with your own talents, hobbies and shit. 
 
But sometimes, life's bullshit piles up on you and you forget that.
 
This isn't just armour. These are superpowers bestowed upon you; superpowers that already exist in you. 
 
3) I got your back
 
I don't know if you're feeling alone in this world right now. I don't know if you feel like you have nobody to talk to.
 
But know that if you put my shirt on your back, I got back your back, okay?
 
No, again, this isn't a cheesy idea I pulled out of my ass. I just want my clothes to serve as a reminder or represent ideas that can actually help people. 
 
We are so triggered by bullshit (thanks a lot, social media) everywhere today. I hope my shirts can trigger something positive then. 
 
If it makes you smile a little and makes you think, "Ah man, I seriously need to chill", I'd be glad.
 
4) You're not alone
 
You know what? 
 
XXX people are reading ODL everyday now.
XXX people have purchased ODL.
 
And so I want you to know, whatever it is you're going through now, you're not alone, okay?
 
Whatever anger, sadness, rejection, sense of loss, fear, lack of direction or just plain frustration.
 
You are not alone, okay? We feel it too. We are all one and the same bunch of dudes just trying our best together. 
 
And yes, we're totally down to help. Reach out, say something and ask for help. People DO want to help! Dudes help each other out!

This Is A Movement

This is for dudes everywhere...
 
Mental health is so important, but it's so hard to talk about with
 
I get it. I am an angry dude myself. 
 
I am from Singapore and the prevailing standards of "masculinity" can be overwhelmingly strong, not to mention loaded with misunderstandings. It's pretty tough to want to talk about your feelings for fear of being judged and called a pussy.
 
It's also extremely tiring to live a life of consistently giving face, showing respect and showing up for shit (you don't really care about) only to end up becoming bitter and unhappy.
 
I totally get it. 
 
I created this blog, brand and t-shirt to help. 
 
I want dudes worldwide to come together and share. I want them to be heard. I want them to know that they are not alone.
 
I hope I can do that, starting with this shirt.

One Last Thing, I Really Don't Give A Fuck What You Think You Look Like

That means to say, wherever you think you are on the attractiveness-scale, I really don't care because I think this shirt would make you feel better.
 
As I immersed myself in research on branding for fashion, the quintessential idea behind a successful apparel is because people buy shit so they can look like the celebrities they idolize.
 
Fuck that. I am no celebrity. I am just an ordinary dude!
 
Wearing this to me means you're representing yourself and something even bigger than yourself. (Hell man, you could even say that wearing this shirt is your way of getting back at society. No violence or drama though, please.)
 
And when you feel good, you look good. This is way better than buying expensive shit just to impress others, others you don't give a crap about.
