What I Learnt From Deleting The Instagram App For Two Weeks (But Still Use It On My PC)

· Life and Musings

I deleted the Instagram mobile app a couple of weeks ago.

I simply got sick of consistently checking the app for an update whenever I am outside, be it in the train, bus or just going up the escalator.

Many were the times I'd take out my phone, open the app and then find myself thinking, "What the fuck am I checking this shit for? I just checked it 30 seconds ago."

So, a session of dopamine detox was definitely needed.

I do however, allow myself to check in on my main account whenever I am home and on my PC. I do have DMs that I want to check because they may be important.

This was what went through my mind when I checked in:

  • "Wow I totally forgot about him/her!" when I saw updates from friends and acquaintances. I am not even being dramatic here. It truly felt like I forgot they exist and came into my life for a reason before.

And...

  • "I don't miss this at all haha."

Yep.

And since none of you asked, I am guessing you forgot about me either.
