Breaking Away From Toxic Groups In A Digital World

· Life and Musings
broken image

Basically, exit chat groups that don't serve you anymore.

It's normal advice today when we say, break away from toxic groups. Don't show up anymore. Stop talking to these friends. Quit that job if your colleagues are bullying, pieces of shit.

This is for your own good because you're the average of the five people you surround yourself with or whatever.

What I don't think it's normal (enough) though, is advocating leaving chat groups that are toxic.

They may be just texts.

Pictures, gifs or videos.

Notifications.

A convenient way to reach out.

But they're still digital anchors weighing you down.

If you find yourself being triggered by the words that are invading your eyes, then it's time to leave.

Your avatar, apps and phone are your mental well-being. Period.
