Yes, there's a whole story behind the shirts I am selling here. It's not just branding. It's a story.
Because who needs another T-Shirt right? You can wear any old shit you own and you won't be committing any public indecency.
So yeah, I created this cause it's something I passionately believe in. Check it out.
The Story Behind The
One Dude Shirt
I created this brand for a few reasons:
1) This is truly about mental health for dudes
It is my hope that when people see the words One Dude, they'd be reminded:
- To stop. Listen to a friend today.
- To empathize with one another.
- To not judge.
- To help somebody today.
- Of the importance of men's mental health.
You never know what they may be going through. A simple listening ear could help tons.
2) The instant you wear One Dude, YOU become the ONE DUDE
You're empowered to do amazing shit and make a difference.
Why? Because you're honestly fucking awesome and fully capable of doing so.
I hope you know that.
No, that's not some cheesy tripe I am throwing out there. Like everybody on this planet, you're pretty damn unique with your own talents, hobbies and shit.
But sometimes, life's bullshit piles up on top of you and you forget that.
This isn't just armour. These are superpowers bestowed upon you; superpowers that already exist in you.
3) I got your back
I don't know if you're feeling alone in this world right now. I don't know if you feel like you have nobody to talk to.
But know that if you put my shirt on your back, I got back your back, okay?
This isn't another cheesy idea I pulled out of my ass. I just want my shirt to serve as a reminder AND represent ideas that can actually help people.
We are so triggered by bullshit (thanks a lot, social media) everywhere today. I hope my shirts can trigger something positive then.
If you put on my shirt and it makes you smile a little while you think, "Ah man, I seriously need to chill", I'd be glad.
4) You're not alone
You know what?
A bunch of my dude friends are already supporting me with the brand.

(I'd like to point out that I have lady friends who are also buying the shirt because they want to support their dude, be it husband, boyfriend, BFF or I don't know, some dude they friendzoned.)

Whatever anger, sadness, rejection, sense of loss, fear, self-doubt or just plain frustration.

The Philosophy Behind The Designs
The photos within are of city life and nature. I personally want to visit New York one day and I think Tokyo has a pretty neato culture the time I visited.
So why the city?
Because I believe that if you want to be happy and get better, you need to get out there.
- People suck sometimes, but you still need to get out, meet people and interact with them.
- You can't be isolated at home completely. Trust me, I've been there. Sooner or later, you need to get out and un-hikikomori yourself.
- You need to get to work. For real, do something and validate your place in society.
Why nature?
Cause sometimes, we just need a damn breather and get away from all the noise.
This Is A Global Dude Movement
This is for dudes everywhere...
Mental health is so important, but it's so hard to talk about it with anyone.
I get it. I am an angry dude myself.
I am from Singapore and the prevailing standards of "masculinity" can be overwhelmingly strong, not to mention loaded with misunderstandings. As debatable as this topic is, it's ultimately pretty tough to want to talk about your feelings for fear of being judged and called a pussy.
It's also extremely tiring to live a life of consistently giving face, showing respect and showing up for shit (you don't care about) only to end up becoming bitter and unhappy.
I totally get it.
I created this blog, brand and T-Shirt to help.
I want dudes worldwide to come together and share. I want them to be heard. I want them to know that they are not alone.
I hope I can do that, starting with this shirt.

I have had a bunch of lady friends buying the One Dude shirt for their boyfriends, husbands, fathers and brothers.
Or for some, they be buying to represent the message and wearing it themselves cause they look great in it!
